ABOUT US
Landscape Indonesia is formally incorporated as PT Bentang Alam Indonesia by four partners — Agus Sari, Tuti Hadiputranto, Jatna Supriyatna, and Aria Witoelar — in 2016.
Our mission is to ensure that landscape management in Indonesia is carried out sustainably, while being adequately and responsibly financed.
We believe that achieving sustainable development requires more than conservation efforts — it requires an integrated system that connects environmental integrity, economic growth, and social well-being through innovative financing and collaborative management.
To strengthen this mission, Landscape Indonesia is currently developing the Landscape Incubation Facility for the Environment (LIFE) — an incubation program designed to assist and empower environmental and social entrepreneurs.
Eventually, LIFE will be equipped with a dedicated fund to provide financial resources for environmental and social enterprises, bridging the gap between sustainability initiatives and long-term investment.

The landscape approach is a spatially and participatorily integrated method that balances the seemingly competing goals of protection and production.
It defines the management scope based on key indicators that are ecologically, economically, and socially strategic for each landscape.
This approach is participatory — planned, executed, and monitored collaboratively by direct and indirect stakeholders. It is not a new concept, but rather a practical application of sustainable development, balancing economic advancement, social cohesion, and environmental conservation.
In recent years, the landscape approach has gained strong momentum in Indonesia as a framework to achieve multiple goals in managing regional development — from ecological protection and economic growth to community empowerment.
